Cool Stuff: Madewell Transport Tote

I don’t consider myself fashionable at all. I’m definitely a food/life blogger. But this tote, is totes amazing (haha see what I did there?). I’ve had an eye on it for awhile but because I don’t really spend my money on things like bags it takes me awhile to really get something at that price point. However, I love this bag. I also researched other similar ones, but in the end I always came back around to this bag.

It is a Madewell Transport Tote. Unlined. Real leather, perfect size. It smells wonderful, the color is rich, and leather just gets better with age, so I’m hoping this will last me a long time! It fits everything I need to carry, ipad, laptop, notebook, wallet, etc. It has one interior zip to keep my small things, like my pens, lip stuff, etc.

There isn’t much else to say, other than I love it, it makes me feel fabulous, and I can’t wait to be styling yet function. Cause really its function over fashion for me! Also. No more bags or shoes for the rest of the year. I can do this.

My Road Trip Bag

Road trip

I’m excited for my upcoming road trip to Canada. I haven’t seen my cousin AMY in forever, and even though we’ve been physically apart forever, I love talking to her every day. It’s like we aren’t that far. Its going to be a 10 hour drive (I know, crazy). So I definitely need to be prepared.

I’ve been planning what to wear, and what to bring for the ride up there. And here’s what I got so far. Tom’s for easy slip on slip off in the car if I wanna air out my toes. A chambray shirt to wear over my tee if the AC is too cold. And jeans because that’s comfortable for me. I have to have a purse separate from my weekend bag, so that I can keep things in it to keep me entertained.

Travel Purse

I will probably be sleeping if I am not driving. The ipad will be loaded up with my magazines. The iphone will probably play music and be our gps. Gotta have a charger for both! Pen and journal for any notes or sketches I want to remember along the way. And lip stuff because that air conditioned car will wear you out!

What do you need to keep on hand on your road trips?!

What Tattoos?

If you follow me on twitter or know me personally, or read my about section, you know that I’m always trying to figure out ways to hide my tattoos when I am out and about and especially at work. Well last weekend we had a holiday party, and I am definitely not ready to let anyone know visually that I am a menace to society, trouble and a member of gang (please read the sarcasm, I am none of the above).

So I had to ask my friends, twitter and pin things to figure out ways to look fancy, yet not show a single tattoo. This of course meant my options pretty much were limited to turtle neck dresses. Which I wouldn’t have minded. After searching through and through, I decided on a black long sleeve lace dress from topshop.com

Not pictured: full back tattoo that blends into a half sleeve and chest piece, a forearm tattoo and a wrist tattoo.

WIN!

Sketches

Oh hey did you know I am a graphic designer? And the best way to organize before execution is drawing/sketching. Because we live in a digital age, I rarely spend a lot of time in a sketchbook, but just quick squiggles on a piece of graph paper. That being said, I personally think I am terrible at drawing. I could probably draw well enough to get my point across, but it isn’t anything nice enough to talk about.

So, to kill two birds with one stone, I’ve been drawing out outfits that can be made possible with the clothes in my closet. I have a lot of stuff I don’t wear, being that I’ve changed in size. I turned my second bedroom into a closet/dressing room/kitchen storage space. Now I can keep track of what I have, and all the possible ways to wear it. If you can think of more that would help!

What I wore last week:

…and then I got tired. It’s busy super busy busy, but I guess I don’t really need to tell you that. Happy Hump Day and I hope this was a good week!
