Maskeraide Sheet Masks

Scary. I know. Yet awesome. If you follow celebrities on instagram (don't judge me it's a guilty pleasure) you may see them with similar pictures. Except well, they probably still look glamourous compared to me. Any whoo… these are awesome.

BASICALLY, its a face mask, except it comes on a soft sheet with holes for your…holes on you face. Its got a nice serum that you let soak in your face for 20 minutes or so. I would leave it longer because it just feels THAT good. And the best part? At least for me? I don't have to rinse my face after. You just pat it in and let it dry.

They have all sorts of different masks to use, like party prep, all nighter, etc. I am going to try them all out, but currently this is my favorite! I am an affiliate, but all opinions are my own. But if you do plan on purchasing these bad boys, please use my link 🙂

I will also be reviewing the other masks they have so stayed tuned. So far so good!!

DogVacay Review

Wow. Why haven't I heard about this site before? Thanks Michelle for letting me know!

Basically I needed a last minute daycare for Bawse because we had a charity event that we were hosting. Everyone we knew was busy, or going, and his normal daycare was booked. My friend via twitter told me about DogVacay.com. This site is awesome. All their caretakers are screened prior to becoming hosts. You can see the place your pup will stay, as well as profiles of other dogs that live in that home. It's cage free boarding, and your pet is supervised and loved on 24/7. You even get photos and updates via text.

Did I mention it's 24/7 support, free pet insurance and money back guarantee? Because that's pretty much why I was willing to try. It was basically no risk! Except for the fact that Bawse is you know…a pitbull. I knew that some people would be wary, so I messaged people personally to see if they would even consider housing a pitbull in their house, with their kids with their dog. Two had positive responses, and one lady who was like “well, since he's still a puppy he should be okay, but we can have a meet and greet then decide”. Yeah I decided not to go to her.

Bawse did a meet and greet with Kelly W. She has two little boys under the age of 5. Bawse and the kids got along great. We let him go to daycare there once, and plan on letting him go there at least once a week. He was SO exhausted from running and playing and loving on the boys that as soon as we picked him up, he passed out in the car.

He went straight to his crate on his own and passed out with the door open until the next morning! Definitely check out the site if you need a last minute pet sitter!

Feed Starving People

You know what's awesome? When people can find a way to do something they love, and help people at the same time. My car club recently joined forces with another team to Feed Starving people. The event raised money to support this organization's next mission in South East Asia. They also collected clothing donations.

We had the event at the Greene Turtle in Dulles. They were very accommodating. We had a car show with trophies for winners, car limbo, a DJ and vendors. It was fun to share the day with other car enthusiasts and my team!

Congratulations Yueh Yee & Eugene

This year has been pretty crazy. In a good way. Lots of personal life changes, with myself and family. It was hard but we are getting through it. A good chunk of this year was spent thinking about this wedding. Now that its over I am a little sad. Yueh Yee, I like to call her Stealth, is my sister. Sorority sister, but a sister nonetheless. Along with our friend Susan, we are the three musketeers. I met them my first year of college, and time and distance never really kept us apart.

After college, she went off to China, then left me again for Miami. Now she's back, and married, to an awesome guy named Eugene. I am super happy for her, and excited that they are back in town and I can be around for the next adventures in their lives!

The Honest Company

I've decided that I want to live a healthier, cleaner lifestyle. I've already stopped drinking alcohol for OVER a year now. What? Seriously. Yes. I have. I have moments where I'm like man, everyone is drinking, maybe I'll have some wine…but nope I don't, and I still have as much fun as everyone else. Plus I am happy to drive anyone home safely.

On that note, getting older I'm getting allergies that I never had before and my skin is doing weird things. So I started reading a couple of books on how to live and eat naturally (Kimberly Snyder per Suburbanette's recommendation, and The Honest Life per Amzster)

After posting that I ordered the Honest Company Products, I noticed that people wanted a review. My first set of products are the fruit and veggie wash, shampoo & body wash, conditioner, face & body lotion.

So this stuff is pretty awesome. I love eating nectarines and apples, but they always have a waxiness to it, plus the thought of everyone else touching it just gives me the heebie jeebies. When used per instructions, the fruit was left feeling clean and I could eat it no fear! It’s all natural and I’m excited to eat more apples in the upcoming season.

This is the shampoo and body wash. As a girl, I always felt those combos were for guys only. But I kind of like having one less bottle in the shower. Being all natural, I was a little worried that I wouldn’t feel as clean. The crucial test? After a wedding I was in, where my hair was sprayed with almost a WHOLE can of hairspray, and my updo was pretty much glued to my head, I was still able to get it all out. My hair was squeaky clean afterwards. Bonus, I could rub in the excess foam to wash my body too. I still added more though because I’m a germaphobe. The conditioner does what it’s supposed to.

This is also a two in one that I appreciate. I usually keep face and body separate, because thats usually how products are designed, but this is pretty gentle and light enough for face and body. I was a little weirded out by the texture at first. It’s not as creamy and thick as I am used to, but then I realized I like this more because it absorbs into your skin pretty quickly and you aren’t left feeling sticky. Which is partially why I don’t lotion up right after the shower usually. The only thing I don’t like is that there isn’t built in sunblock, like my usual face lotion. So I only use this before bed.

So far so good with these products. I’ve had no allergic reactions. The smell is sweet and gentle. I will let you know if there are any improvements on my skin or if anything else happens!

Life with Bawse

So my little guy is neutered. It was a long time coming. He was supposed to get it done when he was 5 months, but because of his sensitive tummy, he wasn't getting enough iron. He recently was neutered and had a benign tumor removed.

He still a super happy, friendly puppy. And a ladies man, as seen here at my sorority dinner.

He is 8 months at over 60 lbs, but he's still a little guy. Just compact and strong. He finished his training at petsmart, but we decided against letting him take his AKC good citizen certification before neutering. Once he heals, we are going to work with him again to take that test.

My poor guy after surgery. He got a tumor removed, castrated, and he had an ulcer in his eye. But he's healing up well and still has his puppy energy and playfulness.

In A World Like This: Backstreet Boys Concert

The last time I saw Backstreet Boys, all together live, was when I was 13, and Nick Carter was 16. It was my first concert ever. I was out with my other middle school friends. And my parents weren’t there. It was my first night on the town you could say. This was back when my room was dark because the walls were covered, every inch of magazine tear outs and posters of Backstreet boys, along with a tiny space on the ceiling above my head dedicated to Nick Carter.

Fast forward 15 years, and here they are again. Same dance moves, same energy, just a little more weight, facial hair, wrinkles. Same smiles though. Brian is still flipping and goofing around on stage. Kevin is still charming, smooth and suave. AJ is still super awesome and cool. Nick is still an attention whore trying to get all the ladies to love his magic mike moves and well Howie’s still just trying to get everyone to love him and notice him.

They were opened up by DJ Pauly D. Who did a fun set, while I was still eating my burger in the VIP lounge. It was a pretty short set. And then I got my teeny bopper squeal on when Jesse McCartney stepped out on stage in a suit and started singing his old hits, sprinkled with a couple new ones…that I DO LOVE. Realistically, Nick Carter and Jesse McCartney aren’t the type of guys I would swoon over in real life…but on stage what is it about the magic there that just wins a girl over?

My friend Megan (who is an awesome hair stylist by the way) got us the VIP package. Parking, lounge and seats. We were in row A. Close enough to make eye contact with them and share smiles. Did I mentioned, I've probably died 20 times that night? I had an amazing time singing at the top of my lungs, hanging out with Megan and friends. I was still a little sick. But worth every bit of it. If I could afford to do it again, I would. Now I feel a rekindled love for my 5 guys. To another 20 years boys!!!

My Road Trip Bag

Road trip

I’m excited for my upcoming road trip to Canada. I haven’t seen my cousin AMY in forever, and even though we’ve been physically apart forever, I love talking to her every day. It’s like we aren’t that far. Its going to be a 10 hour drive (I know, crazy). So I definitely need to be prepared.

I’ve been planning what to wear, and what to bring for the ride up there. And here’s what I got so far. Tom’s for easy slip on slip off in the car if I wanna air out my toes. A chambray shirt to wear over my tee if the AC is too cold. And jeans because that’s comfortable for me. I have to have a purse separate from my weekend bag, so that I can keep things in it to keep me entertained.

Travel Purse

I will probably be sleeping if I am not driving. The ipad will be loaded up with my magazines. The iphone will probably play music and be our gps. Gotta have a charger for both! Pen and journal for any notes or sketches I want to remember along the way. And lip stuff because that air conditioned car will wear you out!

What do you need to keep on hand on your road trips?!

Life with Bawse: Big boy!

It's been awhile since I've updated on our little guy. Who is enormous by the way. He is 7 months now and well over 50lbs. According to all the extra skin that he still has to grow into, I fear he is going to be HUGE. My fear doesn't come from thinking he will be a big guy to control, but a big baby who wants to cuddle and plop down in my lap because he still think he's 3 pounds.

He's made quite a few friends already. He is a very social and friendly pup, to both humans and animals. He gets really sad when he can't play with everyone. I don't think he realizes hes a giant. Whenever Theodore (my hamster) comes out to eat, he runs up to the cage and cries, then looks at me wagging his tail because he wants to play…or eat him. Who knows for sure 😉

We have come to learn the following in these past 7 months.
1. He has sensitive skin. He scabs and scars very easily.
2. He has a weak tummy. Like seriously, he can't eat everything and I have to closely monitor what kinds of treats and food he consumes. He can eat kale though! And peanut butter. But he definitely needs a more balanced diet, and not so protein heavy like blue buffalo.
3. He is submissive. He's very gentle and loving. If small dogs, or big dogs that he plays with get aggressive, he rolls over onto his back into a submissive position. Don't get me wrong, he's protective of us. But he doesn't start fights or egg them on. I'd rather have a submissive pitbull than an aggressive one any day.
4. He has to greet us both before doing anything else. Every morning when we get him up for a walk, he has to come by and greet both of us before he does anything else. So polite.

He's hanging out with his little buddies Buggie (10lb min pin) and Killer (5 lb yorkie) this week. Should be interesting. He forgets how big he is and sometimes the little ones get trampled if they are running for the same toy. It's funny watching them punk him. I love my big baby.

Projects: DIY TMNT Plush Keychains

So, it is known that I love the teenage mutant ninja turtles. I’ve got everything. Tshirts, cups, mugs, toys, stuffed monster truck, water bottles, coloring books, shotglasses…you get it. Well I got a new car, and I wanted to hang a Raphael head from it.

But I didn’t want to spend like $25 on etsy for a head that its going to get gross from hanging outside of my car. So I made one myself.

This is a pretty big deal, considering that, though artsy, I’m not really crafty. I like the idea of it, but my execution…nonexistent. Sorry pinterest. But one day I just headed to Michaels, grabbed some felt sheets, and some stuffing and had at it. Not bad if I do say so myself!

**Trying out this new embedding through instagram thing. Not sure how I feel about it yet.
